Location
The District encompasses almost 1,500 square miles of Park County, Colorado
(2,200 square miles).
The District terrain is a mountainous, glacial valley located
on the Eastern slope of the Central Colorado Rocky Mountains with an average elevation

Equipment
Three 1st out & 1 reserve Type I, 4-wheel drive, ALS ambulances
Three 4-wheel drive Quick Response Units
All ambulances equipped with 12 Lead EKG & C-PAP
Medical Services
There are no hospitals in Park county, but there are 2 local medical clinics.
Crews
South Park Ambulance District has been a 911 response agency, providing
Emergency Medical Services with career personnel since 1992. The
District is staffed 24/7 with two paid, Paramedic (ALS) crews.
TRANSPORTS
Emergency patients are ground transported to Summit Medical Center in Summit County
(Level III Trauma Center, 30 miles), Heart of the Rockies Medical Center in Salida
(Level IV, 57 miles), Pikes Peak Medical Center in Woodland Park (Level IV, 64 miles), various Denver hospitals
(Level I-II-III, 85 miles), and various Colorado Springs hospitals (Level II, 85 miles).
Helicopter transport is used for critical patients, weather permitting.

A variety of free classes are available, including CPR and First Aid.
CPR Classes

Speakers are available for groups and organizations. Group-specific topics can be
developed, but some sample topics include:

- "Recognizing a Heart Attack"
- "Recognizing a Stroke"

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
South Park Ambulance District is a Title 32, Special District (local government) formed in January, 1992. The District is governed by an elected Board of Directors. Board meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. The public is welcome to attend all meetings, but meetings may be rescheduled or cancelled on short notice.
